Hi Christian,
The food was only fair on the boat, but the guide was excellent and a fun group of younger people.
Thanks for your help, it went well!!

We have just returned from an 8 day Galapagos cruise aboard the Catamaran "Anahi". On the whole the trip was spectacular, no doubt that the landscape, flora and fauna provide you with never ending delights in this extraordinary part of the World. The boat was well crewed and kept pristine, our guide Fabian was excellent. I have two critisisms, the first being our ensuite toilet never functioned properly and the maintenance engineer practically lived in our cabin (No 4) trying to correct the situation. It was unpleasant to say the least, we lived with a sewage stench for the entire trip.
Secondly the food was definitely not up to the standard one expects of an expensive, luxury cruise. We did not blame the chef who did the best he could with the ingredients he was provided with, we felt the company had kept the food budget far too low. We lived on stews for lunch and dinner every day and breakfast was so unvaried that we all probably lost weight by the end. The 14 of us actually abandoned ship one evening to have an Italian dinner in Port rather than eat aboard, unprecedented I'm sure.
I hope for the sake of future passengers that these problems are rectified.

i just got back from galapagos last week. my husband an i were on the MC Anahi our first week there. we loved the Anahi.it was one of the most beautiful boats out there. there were some sad looking ones (like the gabi). our guide (fabian) was great. the crew was incredible. the room was perfect-- great a/c, clean bathrooms.
some people had trouble with motion sickness, which is to be expected when you're are on a smaller boat. make sure you have your doctor prescribe scopolamine patches. this seemed to help. we also found drinking sprite helped with motion sickness. i'd also recommend getting some ginger candy from trader joe's (i don't know if you have trader joe's in houston), but ginger is supposed to help with motion sickness.
the food was delicious. meals were often served on the upper deck. but most of all, you'll enjoy the animals.

The itinerary was well done except for the fact that the trip is delayed to change out people going for shorter time periods. Although this is a disadvantage for those going for 8 days (vs 3 or 5 days), this was not explained. However, the hold-up did not make our trip any less enjoyable, it would have just been appropriate to know. Good balance between travel, shore time and snorkelling time. Good variety of experiences between each day.
The Anahi was simply a perfect boat in its design for purpose, quality of equipment, safety equipment, layout of facilities and amenities. We passed a lot of other boats cruising these waters that we would not have set foot in. I believe we had the best boat out there and this should be advertised.
