Diving in GalapagosWATER TEMPERATURE:

The water temperature tends to vary depending on the time of year. Water temperature is colder in the months June to November because this is the rainy season in the Galapagos and the rain tends to bring colder waters, therefore water temperature during this time ranges from 65°F (18°C) to 75°F (24°C). From May to December water temperature is warmer due to El Niño which brings a warm current; and thus warmer waters. Water temperature during this time ranges from 70°F (21°C) to 80°F (26°C).

THE BEST TIME TO GO DIVING IN THE GALAPAGOS:

The best time to go diving in the Galapagos is from June to November, this when the most marine life can be seen. However, water temperature tends to be a little cold during this time period as well.

Diving in Galapagos

WHICH IS BETTER, A DIVING TOUR OR A LAND BASED PROGRAM WITH DIVING TOURS:

Both are great options, diving tours are just as they sound; all about diving. You will have the opportunity to dive at the best spots in the Galapagos Islands and see the amazing mammals. A land based program with diving tours is a great option as well because you will have the opportunity to see the main attractions of the Galapagos Island as well as dive in some of the best spots in the Galapagos. If your goal is to strictly do some diving in the Galapagos, then we suggest a diving tour on one of our boats. If you want to see the Islands as well as have the opportunity to do some diving we suggest a tour with one of our hotels.
