Trip to the Galapagos Islands
All Inclusive Galapagos Vacation Package
7 days / 6 nights
Day 1: Arrival to Galapagos, Visit Charles Darwin Research Station & Tortuga Bay (L/ D)
After flying to the Galapagos Islands and upon arrival to Santa Cruz, you will meet our staff to start your experience on this island with a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station, where you are going to see and learn about one iconic animal at the Galapagos Islands – the giant tortoise. You'll also learn about the vegetation and the amazing biodiversity of this side of the island. After this visit, you go to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, it's beach time! You'll be on one of the most beautiful beaches not only of the Galapagos but of all Ecuador. It has a great environment and wonderful views, making it a truly remarkable place. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 2: Santa Cruz Day tour (B/ L /D)
After breakfast, you will have a full day tour. Depending on the weather conditions, we are going to arrange the best option for you. For these tours, you leave in the morning, lunch will be onboard the boat, and we return to the hotel in the afternoon. Depending on the scheduled itinerary designed by the National Park, we can visit some of the following attractions –
Bartolome Island: This is one of the youngest islands of the Galapagos, and is home to the emblematic Pinnacle Rock. There you can find not only great views, but also the cute Galapagos penguins! Sea lions rest close to the water so you can see them on the land or in the water while you snorkel, and sometimes there are hawks flying around too.
North Seymour Island: Here you will find lots of blue-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, and the archipelago's largest population of frigatebirds. This island is close to Baltra, and because it is very arid there are Palo Santo trees all over the place. The vegetation of these two nice islands is similar due to the fact that both were formed from a geological uplift. We'll have the opportunity to observe the nests of many species up close.
Plazas Island: It has one of the largest populations of sea lions and also lots of land iguanas, which make this island a very special one. It is a very small land mass but hosts marvelous vegetation; for example, you will see prickly pear cactus trees all around. One amazing characteristic is that the groundcover vegetation (scarlet ice plant) changes its color depending on the season – in the rainy season it is green all over, but in the dry season it is purple and orange.
Day 3: Santa Cruz Highlands (B/ L /D)
You start your day with a tasty breakfast and continue to the highlands of Santa Cruz, where you will have another encounter with the giant Galapagos tortoises in their natural environment. It is also a nice contrast to see another ecological perspective on the island. After this activity, you can return to the hotel for lunch, and then you'll have the afternoon free to enjoy the pool or go to the town and buy some Galapagos souvenirs. Dinner will be served at the Hotel.
Day 4: Transfer from Santa Cruz to Isabela Island – Isabela Lodge (B/ L/ D)
After breakfast, you will go the port and take the public speedboat to the lodge on Isabela. Upon arrival, the staff will welcome you and check you in. You start your trip at Isabela by going to Las Tintoreras, where you can see different kind of animals such as marine iguanas, sea lions, and penguins and take a refreshing swim or snorkel if you want.
In the afternoon, our second excursion is to the "Galapaguera" Giant Tortoise Breeding Center on Isabela. It was created in order to protect tortoise eggs from other animals like the invasive donkeys or pigs. When the tortoises are old enough, they are released to their natural habitat.
Day 5: Isabela Island – Los Túneles and Muro de las Lágrimas (B/ L/ D)
After breakfast, you depart to the first visit of the day – Los Tuneles, which were formed by lava flows but also have a unique characteristic because of the waves' impact.
Here, you'll witness amazing natural harmony as you find lots of animals like green sea turtles, sea lions, parrotfish, manta rays, and more, which make snorkeling here very enjoyable. After appreciating all that this magic area has to offer, we'll continue our trip to El Muro de las Lágrimas (The Wall of tears) in order to learn more about Galapagos history. After all the activities, you'll return to the hotel for a delicious dinner.
Day 6: Isabela Island – Volcan Chico & Sierra Negra (B/ BL/ D)
After breakfast, you will hike through some amazing active volcanoes. You'll see one of the most active volcanoes in the Galapagos, whose crater is recorded as the 2nd largest in the world – the Sierra Negra, which had activity as recently as 2005. The adventure continues at Volcan Chico, which dazzles us sometimes with sulfuric events that you might witness. You will have a filling box lunch in the area while you enjoy the nature. In the afternoon, you return to the lodge, and after dinner you can rest up for the next day.
Day 7: Transfer out – Return home
After a delicious breakfast, our staff will transfer you to Puerto Ayora in a public speedboat and from the port to the airport for your flight home.
